$180m spending spree to build up his
fleet of products tankers.
Bilal Erdogan BMZ Group emerged last July when it bought the 7,150-dwt Mecid Aslanov (built 2014) from the Palmali group for $35 million. It was delivered from the Turkter yard in Istanbul in October.

Erdogan's son Bilal Erdogan it has paid $18m to acquire another newbuilding, the Maltese-flagged, 7,150-dwt MV Begim Aslanova (built 2015), which has been launched this year at Turkey's Yardimci Deniz, after being ordered in 2013.

Turkish Government officials are notoriously corrupted with many cases including December 14-17 operations exposed President of Turkey telephone conversations with his son Bilal Erdogan. Decending from a poor family President Tayyip Erdogan's son Bilal Erdogan is becoming a wealthy shipowner in Turkey. Still many bribery cases has been trying to be concealed in Turkey among Ministers and President.
